Tilaustyö

Tilaustyö on nyt valmis, tässä muutama kuva korusetistä. Materiaaleina on käytetty malvan värisiä makeanvedenhelmiä, ruusukvartsia, swarovskin kristallia ja pieniä hopeahelmiä, jotka on solmeiltu helmisilkkiin. Korunosat hopeaa.

I've finished and handed over the first ordered set and here you'll see a few pictures of the result. The materials are mauve fresh water pearls, rose quarts, Swarovski crystals and small silver beads that are knotted on a silk thread. Other parts are made of silver.

Sunnuntaina tilaamani helmet tulivat postissa jo tiistaina. Tein tilauksen sekä Helmiharakkaan että Punaiseen kiveen ja täydentelin tilausta vielä maanantaina pienellä tilauksella Villihelmestä. Helmiharakka ja Punainen kivi olivat minulle molemmat aivan uusia tuttavuuksia, mutta kaikki meni kyllä oikein mainiosti. Tilaukset tulivat molemmista nopeasti ja Punaisen kiven pitäjä avusti lauantaipäivän kokkailujen keskeyttämisestä huolimatta hyvin ystävällisesti.

Tilaustyöhön tilaamani helmet ovat oikein onnistuneet. Tilasin koruun malvan värisiä makeanvedenhelmiä ja ruusukvartsia, sekä sävyyn sopivia Swarovskin kristalleja, mutta se riipus! Ei vaan näytä hyvältä. Se on liian pinkki ja ei sovi tyyliin oikein ollenkaan. Nyt täytyy siis miettiä Plan B:tä riipuksen suhteen. Villihelmestä tilaamani helmisilkki tuli eilen, joten voisin alkaa solmeilemaan itse koruja kuntoon, mutta riipusasia olisi tietysti hyvä ratkaista sitä ennen. We shall see..

Ihanaa oli päästä uusia helmiä hypistelemään ja suunnittelemaan, ja haaveilemaan mitä kaikkea niistä voikaan saada aikaiseksi. Tilasin jonkin verran riipuksia ja hopeoitua kuparilankaa - en ole paljoa käyttänyt aiemmin riipuksia ja nyt haluankin kokeilla riipuksien ja kieputtamisen yhdistämistä. Toisaalta tilasin ensimmäisen kerran isoja papukaijalukkoja ja kokeilen muutamien henkilökorttiketjujen tekemistä töihin. Saas nähdä mitä työpaikan naiset niistä sitten tykkäävät.

Loma alkaa muutaman viikon päästä ja sen jälkeen on jo syksy ja voi ihan luvan kanssa nyhertää kotoja ja väkertää kaikkea ihanaa!

The beads I ordered on Sundey arrived already on Tuesday! I placed an order to Finnish e-stores Helmiharakka and Punainen kivi  on Sunday as well as a small order to Villihelmi on Monday. Both Helmiharakka and Punainen kivi were new acquaintances for me but everything went as it should. The order arrived quickly and the owner of Punainen kivi was very helpfull and friendly even though I interrupted her Saturday dinner preparations.

The beads for the unique set were really beautiful. I got mallow colored fresh water pearls and rose quartz in addition some same shade Swarovski crystals, but the pendant! It just doesn't look good. It's too pink and it doesn't matct the style at all. So I just need to come up with a plan B with the pendant. The silk thread from Villihelmi arrived yesterday so I could start knotting the bracelet and the necklace together but the solution on the pendant should be solved before that. We shall see..

Nevertheless, it was wonderfull to get some new beads that I could fiddle and play with. To plan and dream of lovely new pieces I'll make. I haven't really used that much pendants or silver plated copper wire before but now I ordered some so I can try some more my new discovered technique of wire wrapping. In addition I ordered some big locks for the purpose of making a few key chain or a identity card necklaces for work. Let's see what my colleagues think of them..

My holiday starts in three weeks and after that it's already autumn! Then I can easily stay at home and make all these things!

Ensimmäinen tilaustyö - First order for a unique jewerly

Olin eilen serkkuni luona ja tuli puheeksi, että hänellä on iltapukujuhlat tulossa kolmen viikon päästä. Puku on, mutta korut puuttuvat. Katsastimme puvun ja muut asusteet ja tarve olisi kaula-, ranne- ja korvakoruille. Tänään olenkin jo selaillut helmikauppojen tarjontaa, mutta tilauspäätöstä en vielä tehnyt. Täytyy vielä hieman suunnitella kokonaisuutta lisää, ennen tilauksen tekoa. Todella kivaa joka tapauksessa! :)

Sovittua tekemistä on vielä kaikenlaista, joten kiire tässä voi tulla. Lomani alkaa vasta kuukauden päästä, joten tässä tapauksessa työt haittaavat hieman harrastamista. Toisaalta ensi viikonloppuna olemme pienissä häissä ja sitä seuraavana viikonloppuna on tulevan kummipoikamme ristiäiset, juhlapaikalla olemme luultavasti perjantaista sunnuntaihin. Kummipojalle on tekeillä vielä pienenpieni neuletakki (valmiina on vasta taka- ja etukappaleet) ja pari viikkoa on aikaa Korukoplan haasteeseen. Tämä korusetti olisi hyvä saada valmiiksi juhlia edeltäväksi viikoksi. Huh-huh ja mukavaa, kun on tekemistä!

I was visiting my cousin yesterday and it came up that she is attending an fancy party three weeks from now. She has decided on the evening gown but is lacking the appropriate jewerly to go with it. We checked out the gown and other planned accessories and the need would be for a necklace, ear rings and a pracelet. I've already glanced through the offerings of the bead stores this morning but haven't yet made the order. I still have to plan the set a bit more before making the order. I'm so happy for my first order! :)

I have quite a few other things taking my time so it is more than likely that it's gonna be a hustle.. I've still got four weeks of work before my summer holiday starts so in this case work is interfering hobbies. We also have my good friends wedding next weekend and our soon to be god sons christening the weekend after that. We will probably be staying the whole weekend with the god son and his parents at their summer cottage. I'm still working on the god sons little cardigan (the front and the back sides are done and I'm working on the sleeves) and I still have a couple of weeks until I have to have Korukopla's challenge piece done. This set I would need to have prepared on the week before the ball. Whoa and yahoo, I'll have something nice to do!
