Korukoplan haaste Wanhan Kansan Wiisaudet - The challenge "Wisdom of The Ancient"

Jokin aika sitten ilmoittauduin ensimmäiseen haasteeseeni, joka oli Korukoplan Wanhat Kansan Wiisaudet. Wiisauteni oli: "Jos uit liian syvälle niin Hiisi sinut vie". Tässä tekemäni kaulakoru, jolla haasteeseen osallistun. Materiaaleina makeanvedenhelmet, kristallit (ainakin osaksi Swarovski) sekä siemenhelmet koruvaijerissa, riipuksena minun ensimmäisessä helmihäkissäni onyx, helmihäkki siis hopeoitua kuparia.   

On tosi kiva nähdä, mitä kaikki muut ovat haasteeseen valmistaneet!

A while back I decided to participate in a Korukopla challenge called "The wisdom of the Ancient". The wisdom I chose was "If you swim too far then Hiisi will take you".  Here you'll see the necklace I prepared for the challenge. I used fresh water pearls, crystals (at least some are Swarovski) and seed beads on a wire. The pendant is my first ever bead cage. The cage is made of silver plated copper with an onyx inside. 

I'm very interested on seeing what everybody else has prepared for  the challenge! :)

Ensimmäinen tilaustyö - First order for a unique jewerly

Olin eilen serkkuni luona ja tuli puheeksi, että hänellä on iltapukujuhlat tulossa kolmen viikon päästä. Puku on, mutta korut puuttuvat. Katsastimme puvun ja muut asusteet ja tarve olisi kaula-, ranne- ja korvakoruille. Tänään olenkin jo selaillut helmikauppojen tarjontaa, mutta tilauspäätöstä en vielä tehnyt. Täytyy vielä hieman suunnitella kokonaisuutta lisää, ennen tilauksen tekoa. Todella kivaa joka tapauksessa! :)

Sovittua tekemistä on vielä kaikenlaista, joten kiire tässä voi tulla. Lomani alkaa vasta kuukauden päästä, joten tässä tapauksessa työt haittaavat hieman harrastamista. Toisaalta ensi viikonloppuna olemme pienissä häissä ja sitä seuraavana viikonloppuna on tulevan kummipoikamme ristiäiset, juhlapaikalla olemme luultavasti perjantaista sunnuntaihin. Kummipojalle on tekeillä vielä pienenpieni neuletakki (valmiina on vasta taka- ja etukappaleet) ja pari viikkoa on aikaa Korukoplan haasteeseen. Tämä korusetti olisi hyvä saada valmiiksi juhlia edeltäväksi viikoksi. Huh-huh ja mukavaa, kun on tekemistä!

I was visiting my cousin yesterday and it came up that she is attending an fancy party three weeks from now. She has decided on the evening gown but is lacking the appropriate jewerly to go with it. We checked out the gown and other planned accessories and the need would be for a necklace, ear rings and a pracelet. I've already glanced through the offerings of the bead stores this morning but haven't yet made the order. I still have to plan the set a bit more before making the order. I'm so happy for my first order! :)

I have quite a few other things taking my time so it is more than likely that it's gonna be a hustle.. I've still got four weeks of work before my summer holiday starts so in this case work is interfering hobbies. We also have my good friends wedding next weekend and our soon to be god sons christening the weekend after that. We will probably be staying the whole weekend with the god son and his parents at their summer cottage. I'm still working on the god sons little cardigan (the front and the back sides are done and I'm working on the sleeves) and I still have a couple of weeks until I have to have Korukopla's challenge piece done. This set I would need to have prepared on the week before the ball. Whoa and yahoo, I'll have something nice to do!

Leikkiin mukaan - Let's play

Muiden korublogeja on ollut todella mukava selata jo pitkään, mutta nytpä pääsen itsekin leikkiin mukaan! Ilmoittauduin siis Ninnin Korukoplan Wanhan Kansan Wiisaudet -haasteeseen. Kaikki haasteeseen ilmoittautuneet julkaisevat wiisauden inspiroimat korunsa sivuillaan elokuun 15. päivä . Minulla wiisautena on "Jos uit liian syvälle niin Hiisi sinut vie" joten nyt alkaa armoton helmien hypistely ja suunittelu. Joitakin ajatuksia aiheesta minulla saattaa jo ollakin..

Other bead enthusiasts blogs have been delightfull in the past but now I can play and participate as well! Ninni announced in her blog Korukopla a challenge called "The Wisdom of the Ancient" and I took it. The purpose of the challenge is that the participants will publish their interpretation of a wisdom in the form of a jewerly on the 15th of August. My wisdom is "If you swim too far then Hiisi will take you". Now, a relentless bead circus and planning will commence. All though, some ideas I might already have..
