Tilaustyö

Tilaustyö on nyt valmis, tässä muutama kuva korusetistä. Materiaaleina on käytetty malvan värisiä makeanvedenhelmiä, ruusukvartsia, swarovskin kristallia ja pieniä hopeahelmiä, jotka on solmeiltu helmisilkkiin. Korunosat hopeaa.

I've finished and handed over the first ordered set and here you'll see a few pictures of the result. The materials are mauve fresh water pearls, rose quarts, Swarovski crystals and small silver beads that are knotted on a silk thread. Other parts are made of silver.

Kieputteluharjoittelua - Practising wire wrapping

Olen kovin innostunut uudesta tekniikasta eli kieputtelusta. Minulta löytyi varastoistani jotakin hyvin edukasta ja ohutta metallilankaa, jolla aloitin harjoittelun. Ensimmäinen työ kyseisellä tekniikalla ja olen ihan tyytyväinen, mutta nälkä kasvaa syödessä. Löysin aika mielenkiintoisia ohjeita jewerlylessons.com sivustolta, joita minun täytynee kokeilla. Seuraavaksi hankintalistalle menee varmastikin myös hopeoitua kuparia tai ohutta hopealankaa, joiden pitäisi olla parempia kieputteluun kuin metallilangan. On hyvä olla suunnitelmia ensi syksyn sadepäivien varalle. Tässä kuitenkin ensimmäinen kieputeltu koruni.

I'm very excited about a new technique for me called wire wrapping. I had some thin metallic wire in my treasure box, which I could use for practising. As a first work with that technique I'm pretty satisfied, but I have high hopes on getting better on that technique in the future. I found a very intreresting instructions from jewerlylessons.com which I'm pretty sure I have to try. Next fall I need to put some copper silver plated wire or thin silver on my shopping list which I think would be better for wrapping and weaving. It's good to have some plans for rainy days next fall. Here is nontheless my first piece using the wire wrapping technique.

Aloitetaan rytäkällä - Why stop now?

Tässä vielä pari vanhempaa tuotantoa olevaa korua, jotka jatkaa samaa lasihelmi ja metallisten korunosien sarjaa kuin äsköiset, alemmassa korussa on lisänä swarowskin kristalleja. Ylemmän väritystä oli hankala saada vangittua kuvaan, helmet ovat vaalean- ja viinipunaisia sydänhelmiä. 

Here are still a few pictures that I've made a while ago. They are made of glass beads and metallic parts with some swarowski crystals on the lower one. The upper one was a hard one to get in the photo with good colors. The heart shaped beads are light rose and burgundi colored.
