Tilaustyö

Tilaustyö on nyt valmis, tässä muutama kuva korusetistä. Materiaaleina on käytetty malvan värisiä makeanvedenhelmiä, ruusukvartsia, swarovskin kristallia ja pieniä hopeahelmiä, jotka on solmeiltu helmisilkkiin. Korunosat hopeaa.

I've finished and handed over the first ordered set and here you'll see a few pictures of the result. The materials are mauve fresh water pearls, rose quarts, Swarovski crystals and small silver beads that are knotted on a silk thread. Other parts are made of silver.

Korukoplan haaste Wanhan Kansan Wiisaudet - The challenge "Wisdom of The Ancient"

Jokin aika sitten ilmoittauduin ensimmäiseen haasteeseeni, joka oli Korukoplan Wanhat Kansan Wiisaudet. Wiisauteni oli: "Jos uit liian syvälle niin Hiisi sinut vie". Tässä tekemäni kaulakoru, jolla haasteeseen osallistun. Materiaaleina makeanvedenhelmet, kristallit (ainakin osaksi Swarovski) sekä siemenhelmet koruvaijerissa, riipuksena minun ensimmäisessä helmihäkissäni onyx, helmihäkki siis hopeoitua kuparia.   

On tosi kiva nähdä, mitä kaikki muut ovat haasteeseen valmistaneet!

A while back I decided to participate in a Korukopla challenge called "The wisdom of the Ancient". The wisdom I chose was "If you swim too far then Hiisi will take you".  Here you'll see the necklace I prepared for the challenge. I used fresh water pearls, crystals (at least some are Swarovski) and seed beads on a wire. The pendant is my first ever bead cage. The cage is made of silver plated copper with an onyx inside. 

I'm very interested on seeing what everybody else has prepared for  the challenge! :)

Prahan tuliaisia - Souvenirs from Praque

Siskoni ja minä kävimme viime helmikuussa Prahassa. Kaupungin monien nähtävyyksien lisäksi eksyimme myös upeaan lasihelmiliikkeeseen, jonka olisi rahatilanteen niin salliessa voinut tyhjentää kokonaan. Pitkään ja hartaasti harkittuamme siskoni osti liikkeestä samanlaisia upeasti viistohiottuja lasihelmiä tyttärilleen, toiselle vihreitä ja toiselle fuksian värisiä. Lisäksi molempiin löytyi juuri sopivia pienempia lasihelmiä.

Suomeen palatessamme siskoni unohti antaa helmet minulle, jotta olisin voinut heti tehdä niistä valmiit korut. Siskoni perheineen asuu Keski-Suomessa, minä Uusimaalla, joten meni tähän asti, kunnes korut sattuivat mukaan ja minulla oli riittävästi aikaa vierailun aikana, jotta niistä saataisiin viimein valmiit korut. Harmittavasti kuvien taidokkaasta sommittelusta huolimatta itse helmien kauneus ei ihan pääse oikeuksiin, mutta tältä korut kuitenkin näyttivät...

My sister and I went to Praque last February. Among all the beautiful places in town we also stumbled across an amazing glass bead store which I easily could have emptied without a doubt. After a long consideration my sister chose two sets of  beveled/oblique (?) cut glass beads, one green and one fuchsia, for her daughters. In addition she bought smaller beads to go with both of the sets. 

When we came back to Finland, my sister forgot to give me the beads. She lives in Central Finland 250 kilometers from me so it took all this time before the beads came to me and I could make necklaces for the girls out of them. Even though the composition work for the photos was excellent, the beauty of the beads doesn't shine through from the photos as I'd hoped, this is what they looked like...

Oma suosikkini ...tähän mennessä - My own favourite...thus far

Ennen kuin lopetan lupaavan blogistiurani tältä päivältä, haluan vielä näyttää teille oman suosikkini. Tämän korun tein noin reilu vuosi sitten ja olen käyttänyt sitä todella paljon. Löysin 3 korun rengasta Tampereen käsityömessuilta vuoden 2009 lopussa. Renkaissa lukee usko, toivo, rakkaus ja niiden ympärille oli pakko rakentaa tällainen koru. Makean veden helmet on solmittu silkkinauhaan ja musta riipus on swarovskin kristallia.

Before I stop my very promising bloggist career for today, I want to show my own favourite. I found the three rings from Tampere handiwork fair and I just had to create a necklace like this. The rings have Love, Trust and Faith written on them. The fresh water pearls are knotted on a silk thread and the black pendant is a swarovski crystal.

Aloitetaan rytäkällä - Why stop now?

Tässä vielä pari vanhempaa tuotantoa olevaa korua, jotka jatkaa samaa lasihelmi ja metallisten korunosien sarjaa kuin äsköiset, alemmassa korussa on lisänä swarowskin kristalleja. Ylemmän väritystä oli hankala saada vangittua kuvaan, helmet ovat vaalean- ja viinipunaisia sydänhelmiä. 

Here are still a few pictures that I've made a while ago. They are made of glass beads and metallic parts with some swarowski crystals on the lower one. The upper one was a hard one to get in the photo with good colors. The heart shaped beads are light rose and burgundi colored.

Tämän blogin ideahan oli esitellä tekemiäni koruja, ja saada teiltä toivottavasti positiivista palautetta ja rakentavaa kritiikkiä.. Pidemmittä puheitta, tässä on kuvia koruista, jotka olen tehnyt jo jokin aika sitten. Materiaaleina näissä on käytetty lasihelmiä ja metallisia korunosia.
